Danny Simmons is an artist and author and founder and president of Rush Arts Gallery in Chelsea and Corridor Gallery in Brooklyn. He sits on the board of directors of several Brooklyn cultural institutions and is the creator of the Broadway and HBO series Def Poetry Jam. Simmons is the vice-chairman of Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation.
