Holly Sears is known for her highly realized naturalist paintings of unnatural combinations of flora and fauna rearranged into pointed, almost believable settings. Sears received The Basil H. Alkazzi Award for Excellence in Painting in 2012, a commission from the MTA Arts for Transit in 2010 and her work has been in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the US, and internationally, including shows at the Hudson River Museum, Virginia Museum of Fine Art, New Jersey State Museum, Bergen Museum of Art and Science, Wave Hill Glyndor Gallery, and the Art in Embassies Program. Sears' work is included in the collections of the New Jersey State Museum, the Bank of America, Sidney and Frances Lewis, and AT&T.
