Karen Schifano lives and works as both an artist and painting restorer in New York City. She received a BA in art history from Swarthmore College and an MFA in painting from Hunter College. As an abstract artist, she explores issues of line and space through painting and tape installations, drawing inspiration from the urban landscape as she travels around the city. Windows, street lines, architectural plans and doorways, all find their way into the work, in whatever form it takes. In this case, legos provide a playful structure that is both a "painting" and an object.
