This is a still from that project in which I spent several months in the subway videotaping people at the moment they missed their trains. I was interested in the shattering quality of disappointment -- the way the world seems to fall apart when you don't get what you want, even something as small as not catching the train. (Especially something that small.) Editing the footage, I found myself just as interested in the way people composed themselves after the initial disappointment, how they publicly put themselves back together.
