For the "Fossils" series, I took images from television of the residences of well-known TV families (the Bradys, the Flintstones, the Cleavers of "Leave it to Beaver", etc.) and, utilizing a basic imaging program, produced an effect of low bas-relief, suggestive of a timeworn fossil. The result combines ostensibly ephemeral images from popular culture with the scientific importance of the archeological "find". The series is also an oblique tribute to the experimental photography of Raoul Ubac who, in the 1930's produced a series of photographs of "fossils" of the Eiffel Tower, Paris Stock Exchange, etc.
