I draw lines with a needle and thread on a painted canvas as a means to merge the optical with the tactile. The physical process contrasts the cool monochromatic ground. The threaded lines conceal and reveal the skin of the painting simultaneously. I use humble materials and a restrained vocabulary in order to expand within those limits.
